Whether you’re a through hiker or just don’t want to deal with lugging around a heavy panel car camping, we can all benefit from a lighter load. Our thin film panels have no glass or heavy backing that weigh down traditional panels, allowing you to move faster or pack more.

But don’t let the lightness fool you, our panels still pack a punch. While thin film panels technically have a lower efficiency (remember, we’ll always be honest) compared to traditional monocrystalline panels, our testing in real life conditions against these panels has shown no significant difference in efficiency. In fact, in some conditions thin film panels have shown better efficiency.  

We don’t believe in babying gear. If it’s designed for the outside, it should be rugged enough for the outside (and all of its unpredictability). Drop it. Toss it. Cram it in a backpack. Spill beer on it. We’ve probably done worse… maybe just don’t drive on it or light it on fire.

Our panels are designed to be as compact as possible, easily fitting in a backpack, dry box or even under the seat of your car. Without glass or a bulky backing of traditional solar panels, our thin film panels take up ¼ of the space of traditional panels and have a more pack-friendly footprint with the surface area of about a sheet of paper. We’ll leave what you do with that extra space up to you, whether that means going farther or fitting more be...er...soda.
